yellowlight

Driving in traffic today. Come near a light, as usual it sees me approach and turns yellow. If I were to go through this I’d probably be running a red, so I stopped. Guy behind me goes ballistic. Honks, yells, pulls up beside me. I hear the word “grandpa” and multiple f-bombs. I rolled down the passenger window – he starts yelling at me and asks why I wouldn’t go through the light – people actually want to get somewhere and if they are behind you blah blah blah…. I said “I’m a Saggitarius”. What I enjoyed about all this was he had to stop and think whether this was a response that made sense to him. He looked puzzled and didn’t say anything else. The light turned green. I left. He ran the next red.

Joke is completely on him. Im not a saggitarius, whatever that would actually mean.

Ant on Pasque Flower

From now on, or most of the time, or when I feel like it, or on February 29th… I will probably only post the “best” or my “favourite” pictures here. No longer will I dump a whole bunch at once. Thats for the PHOTOBLOG! http://photoblog.mrussellphotography.com. After I catch up we get a whole new website… the photo website. Eventually.

I single this photo out because its probably one of my favourite pictures I’ve taken in the last while. It was all a lucky accident too, I just leaned over and took a few pictures of this guy on this flower as I walked past. I might see how large I can blow it up for my wall…

2010 Olympic Torch Chosen

2010 torch

Check out my photos of the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Torch Relay

The design for the 2010 Olympic torch was unveiled today. The torch design comes from the Canadian company Bombardier. Designer Timothy Fagan said the torch design was inspired by “the path that a skier takes through snow or the lines that are left on the ice when a skate passes by”.

Yet, when looking at it… all I can think of is that it reminds me of a joint.

I suppose that would only be appropriate for a Vancouver hosted event. Ridiculous right? You light a joint then pass it from person to person and… oh…

Happy New Year

Photographer Kyle Cassidy posted this on his blog and invited others to do the same. I thought it was well worth it – Auld Lang Syne on a SAW? The singing makes it worth it though. Recorded on a Fisher Price Pixelvision toy video camera no less.
